I am absolutely loving my time at Sussex, Ever since I started studying there in the fall of 2021, I have felt so welcomed, and enjoyed every minute of it. Here I am encouraged to learn more, and take control of my own future, by choosing the modules I find interesting. The lecturers are interested, and willing to help the students succeed by taking time for individual tutorials as well as being available on email to give advice or tips. Not to mention, I have met so many wonderful people, and have had so much fun making friends for life. I have two specific improvements for the university to get even better, and that is one to teach us skills such as creating a good cv, or other transferable skills to work life. Some of the readings can be quite outdated, and hard to read which sometimes complicates it more to understand what the topic is about. So I would prefer more “up to date” texts and readings which can give a broader understanding of the matter which can also help when it comes to writing essays.

Personally I enjoy media and communications a lot. I am very glad that I chose This course because it opens up many doors to a versatile future where I can work internationally which is my future aim. I do wish there was more creative modules which I have not found yet but I have enjoyed trying out modules from other faculties such as a business module, I have also tried French which I found very interesting and a law module. Having options outside the media course helps me to navigate my dreams and aspirations of finding out what I really want to do in the future.

I found it very hard to settle end to my accommodation. It was not like I had pictured it and I was quite disappointed but after the first term was over I had gotten used to it. There was a lot of bad hygiene in my accommodation as well as lots of noise throughout the night and I found it hard to get any assistance or help from the maintenance people/the people that worked with accommodations but luckily I made friends From around my block which was really uplifting.

I always worried about going to university and feeling lost, however coming to Sussex I have never felt alone or unsure. The support we get is just amazing from bursurys, to the student union and offering so much support such as therapy. I don’t think I would have one bad thing to say! Apart from offering a more affordable supermarket on campus.

I enjoy my course so much, and how interesting it is. I would love if we were able to contact tutors more often in an easier way.

I enjoyed halls so much, however there not much safety as in I have had things stolen from the kitchen. Other then that it was a lovely accommodation and very modern.
