I love studying at Falmouth. It is a beautiful location set on the South Coast of Cornwall. It is a vibrant town, with lots of shops. restaurants, pubs, and clubs which means there is a good night life with different options for everyone. The campus is lovely, clean, modern and is 15 minutes from the sea! Making it ideal to pop down for a swim or go surfing when have some spare time. There are even some secret, walled gardens on campus full of tropical plants and flowers as well as an apple orchid, which I personally find really helpful as It gives me the chance to get some fresh air and have a breather, a five minute walk from my flat. Everyone that comes to study at Falmouth is like-minded and creative, which makes it a great place to study. I knew that I wanted to study at Falmouth since I was 13, having been on holiday to Cornwall every year for as long as I can remember. I knew that I loved the area and when I looked at all the courses and the online tour of the fashion & Textiles Institute on the website I knew it was the perfect place for me! Last year I was lucky enough to get in! My course is brand new this year so I wasn't too sure of what to expect but I am loving it! It is all coursework based, very practical and has given me amazing opportunities after just a term and a half such as potential internships, the chance to work abroad during cultural immersion trips funded by the university and also learning programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop which will be so valuable to learn for my future jobs in the industry! My course leader is amazing as well, so enthusiastic and fully committed. Whenever I feel anxious or stressed about my work or life in general I can come to him knowing I will be fully understood and supported. My first term was a bit tricky for me for multiple reasons, but I was able to book in an appointment with student support and talk through your problems with a professional which made me feel better. You can also do it anytime you want, you can drop-in and it's free. I was also receiving emails afterwards to check up on me. I really don't have anything bad to say about Falmouth, whether that be the location or the university. I have got a lovely group of friends now, which have also been developed through the wide range of groups and societies offered at the university. I am a part of the hip hop society which has been a great way to make friends with a common interest and also a chance to have fun. I am growing and thriving after being there just a few shorts months and I am sure I will continue to do so over the coming years. The only thing I think could be improved on is their food for people in Catered Halls. Their breakfast in great, but It would be good to have a few more options for people with food allergies like me. All in all, I love Falmouth so if you are looking for a creative, friendly, safe university right by the sea, I would definitely look into studying at Falmouth.

My course is taught fully in person, at the moment I have one main lecturer but we are also blended with the fashion photography students occasionally when having shared lectures for module content so sometimes we have other lecturers teaching us as well. The course hours work well as we usually get one to two days off a week with a mixture of full days and half days giving us enough free time to also get our work done. My lecturer is amazing, having worked many years in the industry in multiple job roles he has a lot of experience working with big names and brands in the industry and a lot to teach us. My course is creative, very active and I am really enjoying it and learning new skills, such as how to work with, transport new garments as well the art direction and technology side of things as well.

For my first year at university it was very important to me that I was living on campus so that I was close to everything and so I could be fully immersed in uni life! After talking to members of the accessibility team due to my disabilities they managed to get me a double bed, ground floor room with an en-suite which was in the flat closest to everything on campus, meaning that it only takes me five minutes to get to my lessons or less to go to the Stannary to get food or go to the campus shop. It is also great as my block is right by the bus stop making it easy to travel and come back from nights out as well as being opposite from Glasney lodge, which is open 24/7. Which means I feel very safe as I can actually see the lodge from my window and I know if I have any problems they are right there all the time. I also was able to bring my car with me meaning it is easy to travel and is only a 3 minute drive to asda or a 10 minute drive to lidl or sainsburys, meaning there are lots of amenities close by. The kitchen does get quite messy while having seven students living in it. The value for money is okay but not amazing, as I do have a large room with lots of space, a large desk and double bed, however, the bathroom is very small and the rooms are a bit more basic. Overall though I am happy with my halls and where I am on campus, making everything easy and accessible for my first year of uni.

This course is excellently structured and delivered. The University takes great care in unlocking weekly content, to assist students like me with a full-time career to keep the pace and not feel overwhelmed throughout it all. Lecturers are a great mix between academics and those coming directly from the industry, giving an excellent balance between academia and industry work. Content is highly prepared, with lots of additional resources available. Having been out of university for a very long time, it was not easy for me to go back to studying. I did however find incredible support from our lecturers, including during difficult moments, and I am grateful for the tips given during these two years, for they helped me make that leap in quality. Before enrolling, I was in between Falmouth University and another UK university, but am I glad that I chose Falmouth and I would do so over and over again! 5 stars out of 5 from me for Falmouth University and for the MA Marketing and Digital Communications 2-year part-time course. Total recommendation.
