I love my university as it is very inclusive and teachers insist on you asking them for any help needed. The cafeteria is nice and good options for food. I also notice that the university is always extremely clean. I feel to improve the University that the cambridge campus could do with a refresh and to look a little more modern. Some of the lecture halls can be a little uncomfortable and cold. Overall it is a very good university and I am proud to go there.

I very much enjoy my course and cant speak too much on it as I have only been going for 4 months, but the content we have learnt so far is interesting and has been beneficial to easing into the course. Although from what I know that we learn in second year I did think we would be introduced into a lot more disorders as that is why I specifically chose to study clinical psychology over psychology. Apart from that it is a very good course and lecturers are very helpful and welcoming.

I felt very welcomed at my first semester at ARU. From the open day I could already tell the lecturers and tutors were full of enthusiasm, and that was no facade, especially some of the course leaders are a joy to talk to and always try to make the time to help students when they can. I do not live on campus, so the commute was quite a shock, but Cambridge (the campus I study at) is easy enough to walk through atleast and is plenty accessible on public transport. Its certainly not a boring city, although I'd stay away from MASH... The student support is very recommended, especially coming straight from sixth form where it was... lacking. In studies, the schools intranet allows you to book a 15 minute meeting with your tutor with just a few clicks whenever they are available to talk about anything. For extra-curricular work, the students union offers volunteer opportunities and the university itself offers a variety work at £12/hr minimum. There's also decent disability and mental health support from what I've seen so far. They offer safe spaces for those with ADHD and Autism and councelling with very reasonable appointment times and even drop-in hours which can be very useful if your mental health gets in the way of attending or booking appointments. Personally, I would also recommend making use of the library, which is incredibly convenient and easy to access with very helpful staff. It makes a good study space too.

Firstly, Everything on your required reading list is provided for you, and you are taught and given plenty of ways to access academic works, so no hundred pound costs for heavy books you'll never read in full! Even if you're not coming in straight from a psychology A-Level, the opening modules provide plenty of content to make sure everyone is on the same page in the first year. This may bore some students, but a refresher is never a bad thing when the principles are underlying what will come after and its preferable to an overwhelming introduction. People who are new to writing essays might struggle initially as there are zero exams in the first semester, and you are required to learn APA 7th format, although this may make some A-Level students sigh with relief. There is plenty of people willing to help you learn though. The lecturers are usually passionate about what they teach, being scholars in the fields themselves, and are all warm and open to questions. Tutor time is high, and you are able to frequently request 15minute meetings for support via the intranet with your lecturers/tutors whenever they are free.
