Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
I have really enjoyed my university experience so far, it has been full of so many adventures, and exciting opportunities I would never have got the chance to do otherwise.
University isn't just about coming to do a course, its about making new friends, trying new things, coming out of your comfort zone, and finding new hobbies.
I personally was very shy when I first came to university and didn't really have a hobby. Now I have joined a sports society, me loads of friends, engaged in so many new things, and put myself out there.
Really recommend it!
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
I think they are brilliant. The gym and sports hall we have is amazing and is great for the sport we do, and the library is great, has everything you need
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The tutors are great, they make things simple if needed, and explain in great detail how your can improve. They are also so welcoming and inviting, that if you were ever stuck, you know you could go to them.
The counsellor is great, she is always there if you ever need some support.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
I don't get involved as for me personally there is nothing which draws my attention.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
I like the city, it has everything you need, the only thing is, its all spread out.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
There are a wide range of clubs and societies you can choose from depending on your style, which is exciting as its great to feel part of a team
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I like that they are simple, and easy to understand, and that the course leader is very helpful if you are finding something difficult.
I don't like that each course leader tells you something different. For example, we wanted to know what quotes were best to use in our work, and they all say something different
How many contact hours per week do you have?
5
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
We have to go on placements as part of our course, which helps us see what getting a job will be like. They also hold many events which youan attend, which tell you about extra courses, or help you with skills you may struggle with.
