My overall experience at the University of Bath has been excellent. I love the campus where everything you need is in one place. I enjoy learning the chemistry course and having the opportunity to apply it in labs. I love the city of Bath which is beautiful and has lots of gardens, shops, restaurants, bars and pubs.

Synthetic and physical labs along with research labs. Big library and lots of study spaces on campus and in the city. Big gym with lots of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. SU with a bar. Several cafes and restaurants and a shop and bank.

There’s student and well-being services and nightline that’s open 24 hours a day. Lots of support for disability, including one on one mentors. Lots of societies and groups for support.

Before COVID: in person lectures and workshops, in person tutorials with tutor in groups of about 6 and in person labs. Since COVID: online lectures, workshops, tutorials and reduced in person labs and virtual online labs.

Careers services including help with applications and interviews. Careers service run several sessions a week. The university have produced a website to advertise jobs. A website called My Professional Development which gives help and advice. Each department have their own placement team to help find students their 3rd year placement.

Despite covid, the university has allowed me to continued to learn and grow as a student whilst supporting me in all ways they could. The structure of the lectures has improved and the lecturers have become more aware of the workload and difficulty of the course due to them having access to all of the material.

Hire of equipment for online learning has become very easy and accessible. The university has bought new buildings for study spaces away from campus.

Lecturers have always been available for a quick teams meeting or conversation by email. Response time is much faster than usual.
