Best aspects: The uni is a fun, student friendly, and the teaching staff really show they care. In all the time I have been there the university has made an effort to keep the facilities in good order with great access to clubs and social groups even during covid. The campus is beautiful feeling built into a forest with delightful greenery and a lake making it feel much fresher than the other Scottish Universities I have visited. I've never personally needed much student support but from the people I know who have they've been really responsive to problems really receptive to hearing students out and super accommodating. The uni's commitment to sustainability through recycling programs and energy-efficient practices is also a big plus. For my course the modern, well-equipped labs allow students to gain hands-on experience in conducting experiments and the university also has strong connections with several companies in real world industries allowing for us to go on several field trips over the course of the degree. I've honestly not had a bad time ever for all the time I've been here. Overall, Heriot-Watt stands out as an outstanding choice for chemical engineering students cause of its top-notch facilities, supportive environment, engaging student life, and strong industry connections contributing to a great educational experience. While no uni is perfect, Heriot-Watt University has managed to create a positive and inspiring atmosphere for me.

I was in accommodation during covid so I don't think a full review would necessarily be fair from me because I was only there for 1 semester but the time I did spend there was great.

Heriot-Watt University has a great campus, with a supportive community and top tier lecturers. What can be improved is to fix broken equipment and furnishings.

All classes are in person and I prefer this over having online classes as you can ask lecturers about problems and can develop a good relationship with them. The hours of classes are spread out evenly over the week and this makes its easier to cope with.

Safe and clean environment, perfect for those in first year. For value of money its good as all bills are included. Lovely staff in building. Downside is that the laundromat is in an outside building.
