I really enjoyed my time at UoA. I made lifelong friends and found incredible opportunities with my professors, who always went the extra mile to help me. I would recommend looking into the professors (and their research) on your particular course to see whether you gel with the future they can offer. University taught me how much one can adore the work one puts out into the world- UoA was perhaps the only place I could’ve learned this at the time. Thank you!

Course hours are pretty good, and scheduled well throughout the week. Our genetics courses specifically are very well situated with respect to the rest of the course. The first two years are a general introduction to medical sciences, and the last two (the latter of which is the honours year) are specific to your degree.

The location is absolutely abhorrent- it is at least a 45 minute walk from the main campus and over an hour from the medical campus. My first year at uni was limited to mostly-online learning, but the days I had to come in for labs were not great. The facilities themselves, however, are great!
