I have been impressed with the teaching standards at King's the tutors are really engaging and deliver in a great way. I live in International Halls - it's OK just not for me. I am in the liberal arts society and film society - there are plenty to chose from. I am not involves wiith the student union.

--BEST-- KCL consistently provides unique opportunities (eg a robotics survey I was able to volunteer for) and chances to supplement one's education (like the environment and sustainability networking evening). This is bolstered by their prime location, the Strand Campus undoubtedly being the best located out of any London institution, encapsulating that dynamic feel one imagines when studying in London with Bush House and allowing one to immerse oneself in the cities' tapestry of history with Somerset House and the old Kings Building. We are fortunate to boast some of the best university societies that cover a wide range of interests and hobbies, my personal favourite being the 'Cineaste Society', a (free) discussion-based film society not offered at neighbouring universities, allowing for ample time to socialize alongside watching some truly unique films. This is not to overlook the actual academic part of the university lifestyle; I can only vouch for the Department of Political Economy (another enticing factor of King's, as this specific department is unique to us), but the staff have been exemplary and I feel satisfied with my progress. --WORST-- Developed a severe cough and was prescribed 2 medications that no longer exist by the Bush House health clinic, resulting in 7 separate trips to various pharmacies over nothing; not fun.

--BEST-- Through having PHD candidates teach the seminars, each student is giving two points of contact with staff, allowing for a much more individual focused experience if you happen to need help, eg the lecturer and seminar leader both allowing time for me to discuss an essay plan for my Introduction to Political Theory module. --WORST-- Only having hour long lectures can result in rushed content that realistically needs to be explored in more depth; I'm hoping that this is a first year problem and that sessions will get longer as the material becomes more advanced.

--MOST-- Vauxhall is a good area, having access to a nearby park and two tube stations with different lines (Vauxhall + Nine Elms). --LEAST-- I am only in Atlas as I had to save up for an accommodation deposit, meaning that by the time I could afford it, I could only choose Atlas; these halls we left by others because of the exorbitant £285 per week price tag, meaning that I have had to take out an incredibly large student loan as to afford the roughly £11,000 it'll cost for my one year stay. Thus, I have been given a significant financial burden for the crime of not being able to afford the initial deposit when everybody else could, that relatively small fee costing me over £3,000 in loans compared to other KCL accommodations (that are actually closer to my campus). I have since been given £1,600 in a bursary for the cost of living crisis, meaning that they are well aware of my precarious financial position, but this is too little and too late as I still consider myself as just over another £1,500 in the red for having to choose Atlas at all.
