The university of Essex is very diverse and welcoming. The SU is highly involved in the student's welfare. The facilities are adequate for studying as well as the accommodations provided by the university. It's a bit far from central cities such as London but it is easy to find what you need around the campus. It's surrounded by nature and has a very calmed feeling. If you enjoy tranquility while you study, this is a great university for you.

The course is packed with knowledge, it's very intensive and can be hard to keep up. Having said that, the lecturers are knowledgeable, welcoming, warm and kind. The contact with them is easy and it's easy to have 1 on 1 conversations with them. As an international student it can be hard to comprehend the career prospects but the university offers a variety of seminars and workshops to try to make a sense of the future after graduation.

The town is very diverse given the student body being so diverse, the part time work opportunities are not so easy to find and juggle with the course. The cost of living is high but not as high as other cities, I believe everywhere is very costly right now. The public transport works well

The accomodation is spacious enough, the bed is not the most comfortable but I have everything I need to live for a year. It's close to my classes and to the squares of the university. It's a good value for money, it's relatively safe. It's hard to share the flat with other 15 people but it's manageable.
