They offer therapy sessions for free which is amazing and can be extended if necessary! Our SU is always super cheap I mean we have our own greggs, Starbucks, Costa and our own pub (the Taff) as well as many other facilities. I went to the university of Surrey for a year in 2020 and let me tell you it does not hold a candle to Cardiff. The teaching here is better, more engaging and friendlier, and so are the people of Cardiff. After I left Surrey I was nervous to come back to uni, but my sister was here for 5 years and convinced me this was the place to be. I’ve loved it since day 1. I think the only negative is the strikes but that’s affecting most people who are in uni at the moment.

The lecturers are always really lovely and really helpful! Shout out to one of my lecturer's who is just the most enthusiastic person I’ve ever met and she makes accounting fun! This also meant I was more engaged and got 93% on my first exam. Society and economy is probably my least favourite, we did have to take part in a protest that was mandatory… Overall though it’s really great teaching and I love that next year we can pick our modules to tailor our degree to what we’re interested in.

Talybont South is where it’s at. They grouped people who had taken gap years at the end of Talybont away from the noise and oh my god it’s a god send. I’m with people my age who’ve had similar experiences to me, and a few younger people and it really works. The room size here is good, the en suite is fantastic and we have regular maintenance checks on bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens. We have a cleaner every week (Cheers!! It’s always a great time in taly, we’ve literally named our flat The House 9 Arms
