In my first year at UCLan and I love it, currently studying business and the school is great. It offers you so many opportunities beyond the course such as paid trips to China, help with CVs and the job application process. The Uni has a great friendly atmosphere and offers the student opportunities to do paid work either as a student ambassador or as a researcher over the summer. UCLan has made my first year at University easy and when talking to friends they help a lot more than other Universities in terms of support such as the 'I'.

The facilities at UCLan are great, free gym membership and a modern library with all the books you can need with access off campus too. The library also has group study rooms, computers, a Mac suite and training rooms. There is enough computers around campus if you ever need one there is always some free.

UCLan support student in a range of ways such as peer mentoring, development workshops that help with referencing and assignment structures and there is the 'I' for support with moving course or any finance problems. Overall at UCLan there is a lot of support for students, yet it isn't forced onto you if you don't need it.

The student uni do a lot of things around campus, also they advertise jobs.

Preston has a good student night life with cheap drinks.

At UCLan there are a range of clubs and societies and if there isn't one that you want you can always start your own.

I can only speak for my courses and Lecturers in the business school but the course is enjoyable and the lecturers are always willing to help if you are unsure on anything no matter how big or small.

I haven't applied for a job other than my part time one as a student ambassador but this is an amazing opportunity that the university offers to be able to fit work in around your uni work. Also the uni has a careers department that helps you with any job application or your CV's making applying for a job easier.

The accommodation is like any other student accommodation that I have seen, however the security and maintenance teams are great no matter how small or large your problem or what time your problem occurs they are also here to help.

I am a law with business student and the course is so interesting. The support is tremendous and everyone is very helpful. Lectures are far from boring and facilities are great. Really enjoying my time at uni.
