Loved it. Couldn't recommend my course enough to anyone wanting to get into the world of broadcasting. There's not many courses like it around the UK and in such a prime location is fantastic. The uni is still in its infancy and has had some teething problems. However, in the three years I have been here it has improved exponentially and will only continue to do so! Lecturers and Seminar leaders for my course also deserve a special mention as they have vastly improved my uni experience.

For my course there are a ridiculous amount of high quality placements and work experience opportunities. The university has helped me get a placement at BT Sport and from there I have made some great contacts and references that will no doubt enhance my future employability

The best part is the practicality of the seminars, you are often creating real life content or are working within a practical scenario such as a live television production. Our seminar lecturers as well are fantastic as they are very hands on, easily accessible and always make the seminars laid back and enjoyable. The lecture rooms are sometimes not fit for purpose and if you are sitting just a few rows deep it can be difficult to hear the lecturer at times. They can also, on occasion, be a bit dry and seem to just be long PowerPoints.

Sports facilities need improving. Not for football or rugby they have a very good facility at Hendon FC and RFC. But, Basketball and Netball are often at the mercy of public sports halls and gyms. These can be very unreliable for training etc. Socially, an introduction of a university associated SU bar would be fantastic. However, there is an independent bar which has a similar student night. Brent Civic Centre and smaller boxes inside Wembley stadium are great and completely fit for purpose. Larger rooms that are used for lectures, less so.

You can never be bored of London, coming from a small village it was a bit of a culture shock but once I settled and found out the endless possibilities in the city I was hooked. Yes, it can be very expensive, but if you're savvy and do a bit of research beforehand. Nights out and events are really affordable and the variety of things you can do is brilliant. Wembley is not the liveliest of areas when there isn't an event on, but when there is it gets packed out. The pubs in Wembley are really good though. London city centre is only a 20mins journey on the tube so really easy to get too and well worth it.

Personal feedback from academic tutors is great. They are really easy to access and always endeavour to have a face-to-face meeting. Whilst I have never used any of the personal support the Uni offers I am more then aware of where to go if I needed it.

it’s been a great decision and i haven’t regretted a single moment! living in a city like london is surreal as you have an immense amount of opportunity on your doorstep

there are many opportunities to go and do activities outside of the classroom. for example within my first couple months there i had the opportunity to go and film with a third year at QPR u19’s

i like how much information we are taught as it really helps when it comes down to the exam. i don’t like how the vast majority of the lectures are powerpoint slides as we could stay at home and read the slides

they’re the best they can be for a course like mine.

the best decision i’ve made! love how everything is within a 15 min walk compared to a 15 min drive back home for one shop
