Best - Participating with campus life and academia. Worst - Having to repeatedly fix accounts and university details due to something happening at higher up levels concerning me.

Best - Having great support across all modules. Worst - having lectures be soft rather than real and honest about academic progress early in first year.

Best - It was very community like. Worst - Slow maintenance.

Campus is really nice - encourages you to get out of your house/flat to study. So many study places. I have felt very supported by the staff this past year and a half in the medical school. Selly Oak isn't the nicest area and can often feel unsafe but the student community and facilities in the area are still good and I still enjoy my time living in Selly oak.

Course is taught well although sometimes there is too much 'flipped' learning style lectures which take up alot of your time. There is a good mix of small group teachings/seminars however you change SGT group when you change years which is a bit of a flip because you get comfortable with your group then forced to change and meet new people - this can be good however it seems to have disadvantaged me in my second year because I feel less comfortable talking again and answering questions and it seems most of my group feel the same way. Lots of hours in uni but I think it is a good amount and I do get enough time to do extra curiculars and sport

Very expensive for what it is - often means the sort of people you meet living there may not be your sort of people too. (Often they are quite rich and out of touch). I was fortunate to have a good flat and got on with my flatmates and I loved my room and ensuite but it is very far from the uni and Selly Oak. I was very glad to live on the Vale in first year and I am glad I got the opportunity to live there I wouldnt change it - however maybe would live in a cheaper accomodation even though I loved my flat in Chamberlain. For first year it is walkable to Broad Street which is very good because I have found after first year you dont really go there very often due to it being so far compared to how close it was while on the Vale. I loved the vale in the summer and will really miss it now I am living in Selly oak
