St Andrews is beautiful and I have made lifelong friends here. I had a lot of flexibility to work out what I wanted to study and the Arabic department are very friendly and inspiing. I love the international community here and have learnt a lot about the places my friends are from. I've also gained a lot of confidence through directing my studies and extra-curriculars here.

Student services are accessible and you can get extensions if necessary when you're sick. There is counselling support and the Student Minds society is active. There are also a St Andrews Nightline, an LGBT Society and a generally friendly atmosphere.

Many redevelopments being done.

This is a town, so there's no "city life", however there are 2 clubs, the union and a lot of pubs, and a good house party/club and society scene. Dundee is a short bus ride away if you begin to get claustrophobic, and there are cheap rates to Edinburgh and Glasgow. However some students find it too small and the lack of a train station is annoying.

The clubs and societies are very active and good at reaching out to the community and interacting with each other. They're really accessible due to being close together and there's plenty to get involved with, being on committees or competing in sports. My best friends are from the societies I'm on committee for.

Unusual courses offered (e.g. Biology with Arabic). Lecturers are variable but some are very good.

Job prospects seem terrible everywhere

There's a lot of pressure on accommodation due to the size of the town, but what there is is mostly lovely. Quite a lot of returning students get back into halls.
