It is a brilliant campus. It has free printing, some excellent places to eat and drink, and even a nursery and astroturf football pitches. The student accomodation is really good as well, and it's a good place if you need extra support with your studies e.g. if you have a disability or learning difficulty. It could be improved with easier access to student union and certain people that you need having easier to get to offices. Also, being able to use the nearby Hendon Library should also be an option for students rather than having to get a borough of barnet library card.

My course is really interesting. With access to high quality labs and powerful computers in seminar rooms, the facilities of the course offer a lot. The content is very interesting, from cells, genetics, physiology and anatomy scientific writing and research and even computer coding to create maps. The lecturers are friendly, and a few of them teach different modules, so I am in contact with a few of them a lot of days that I have classes. It is completely in-person. However, because it is so independent, personally I struggle with the coursework. It is a big step-up from exam based learning. There could be more opportunities for work experience, but because there isn't apart from an optional module in 3rd year, I've had to find my own work which is not related to Biology at all. There could be more CV writing workshops as part of my course rather than having to book an appointment with the 'Learning enhancement team'.

The rooms are nice and small and it's the nearest to the campus. You share a kitchen with about 6 people, which can lead to it being very messy depending on the people. Issues come up between flatmates. The halls are really near the shops (The Co op, the pub and the local corner shop) . It is also the cheapest of all the Middlesex University's halls, so I can't complain about that. The rent is still pretty pricey though.

I enjoy studying neuroscience at university because it offers a deep dive into the mysteries of the brain and behavior. The combination of biology, psychology, and cutting-edge technology allows me to explore how the brain controls everything from movement and memory to emotions and decision-making. I find it fascinating how intricate neural networks work together to shape our experiences and actions. The interdisciplinary nature of the field keeps me engaged, as it connects concepts from chemistry, physics, and even philosophy. What excites me the most is the potential for real-world applications—understanding and treating neurological and mental health disorders. The challenge of piecing together these complex processes keeps me motivated, and I love how every discovery feels like a step toward solving bigger questions about the human mind.

I’d highlight the blended learning approach, which combines online resources with in-class lectures. This flexibility allows me to absorb the theoretical aspects of neuroscience at my own pace through online modules, while in-person classes offer opportunities for direct engagement with lecturers and peers. The course hours are manageable, though I sometimes wish there were more structured study sessions to reinforce concepts. I appreciate the accessibility of lecturers, who provide regular office hours and are open to questions, making it easier to clarify doubts. The mix of independent learning and support from both lecturers and teaching assistants makes the course dynamic and ensures I can fully grasp the material.
