Fab uni and very accessible staff. Course is great lots of flexible movement between course. Edinburgh has wide variety of clubs. The gym is great and a good price. Good choice of clubs etc. Could be bigger, I am too old! Great Prospects.

The campus is very scenic and comfortable, definitely my favourite campus out of what I've seen when visiting open days etc. We have great student support when it comes to supplementing learning and disability services, but it falls short when it comes to extensions and mitigating circumstances, especially when compared to nearby universities such as Edinburgh Napier. Our mitigating circumstances forms must be reviewed by the exam board at the end of the semester, which means those who have had unexpected events affect their studies often have to wait months to find out whether their forms have been accepted.

Overall the quality of my course is pretty good, but our 3rd year (2022-23) was severely impacted by the introduction of the Go Global programme for Biology. It was previously unavailable due to the lack of biology facilities in the Heriot-Watt Dubai and Malaysia campuses but was made available for the first time in the 2022-23 academic year. To account for this, all courses that had required labs and/or exams were moved to the September semester, and the courses without labs or exams were moved to the January semester (when the Go Global programme took place) to ensure those who went abroad wouldn't miss out on labs and exams. This resulted in a very unbalanced workload, with most students feeling extremely busy and overwhelmed with work in the September semester and very underwhelmed during the January semester.
