Excellent quality of life, solid teaching with leading academics, something for everyone in its own distinct style. It's a bit old-world, but very pleasant for being so.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
Sports facilities are excellent, there's no problems with the library (and you'll have a college one as well as the main one). IT works fine most of the time and in college there's plenty of provision for music, drama and art.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The careers centre gets by on the reputation of the university. Provision of extra services to students used to be excellent but is increasingly getting squeezed.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Don't bother with the Students' Union - you'll be a member of a JCR and they're so much better.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Durham is an amazing city, small but unique, it feels like its own special part of the world.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Colleges mean you can always find a club where you'll know someone there already, and if you're not very good they're really accommodating and friendly to everyone. The Uni has some of the best sports teams in the country.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
Some courses are top rated; mine isn't. Feedback could be much better and prompter to help us achieve more.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Big name, big appeal - recruiters know us and understand that we're hard workers with a bit more than just academics.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Massively overpriced - sharing is still a thing in 2015, and they'll charge you more than anywhere outside of London for it.

Covid hindered a lot of the social aspects of Durham this year but academically very fulfilling. There was always new content to keep up to date with, however, feedback was inconsistent.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
The science site is very central and makes it easy to get from one lecture to another (before covid). The site has excellent labs and a lot of options for lunch.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The support is there, but the advertising of it is very over the top; to the point it dissuades many people from it.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
This year, as a result of Covid, all my contact hours were online. The 20 hour week schedule was maintained through the release of content every day for the 6 modules I take.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
20
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
There are multiple career talks and emails over the course of the year
Do you think your time at university this year has been value for money?
