Aston University is a great place to study because it is very inclusive and there is a lot of support available from the university and the students’ union. There are a variety of activities run by students and awareness and charity weeks. The lecturers work hard to modify their style of teaching to suit our needs and respond to our feedback. The courses are credited snd prepare you well for work in the field of study. The university is easily accessed by bus or train, though it could be improved by having free car parks for students. The campus is modern with new facilities including more study spaces and student facilities in the students’ union building.

The course is taught with a mixture of campus and online lectures. There are also workshops which teach skills required in the workplace. Practicals are frequent which give you more experience in the lab. Tutorials with tutors occur every few weeks which give you a chance to discuss any issues and complete small assignments as part of coursework. The course is a good balance of exams and coursework which aids better understanding in the long-term, rather than encouraging short-term memorisation. Lecturers are always happy to answer questions and provide feedback. The timetable varies week to week so there is no exact number for contact hours. Having a regular timetable, which changes only every few weeks, could be beneficial to some students.
