University has definitely been challenging and was a big change. We are required to be very independent which is very different from school. I love university but look forward to graduating!

We have a careers service available to us. At the beginning of the year we had one lesson a week on different aspects of applying for jobs and internships such as cv workshops and the different types of interviews to expect. I had two meetings with our careers officer that helped me to understand what organisations are looking for and how to prepare and deal with the various elements of the application process. We went through my CV and cover letter where I was provided advice on how improve. However, can be difficult to arrange appointments. Also many students struggled with the online testing aspect and there wasn't too much help with this.

My lecturers definitely make the topics interesting. I really enjoy my course especially because it is challenging.

Don't really have a student union.

We have the basic facilities that are required at uni. Computer rooms are available, quiet working areas, a trading room as well as a basement with a pool table and table tennis.

I don't live in the city so I only experience it on days when I am at uni. I love being in London surrounded by places to go for lunch. Rush hour can be a pain!

We don't have many societies and I am not involved in them. I don't think there is really enough students for societies to be big.

Support from uni is great. Lecturers are always on hand and reply to emails very quickly. Everyone at uni wants to get the best out of us! Careers service is available for those who wish to use it and is definitely beneficial.

Overall it has been a good experience, I've learnt a great deal which hopefully I will use and remember in the years to come. I've had fun experiences, challenging ones and plenty of stressful ones! Going to university is a unique experience and whilst it is not for everyone, it really is what you make it and I've tried to make the most of it. As a result, I feel I have enjoyed it more.

They offer a career's advisor who can be seen as regularly as the student likes. There are numerous events such as talks by political and business leaders, assessment training days, practice trading events and more. All students get weekly emails with new job opportunities to try, and previous students are routinely brought in to give talks on their experience. So it's fair to day the LIBF do a lot to try and help students get employed

I like most that the lectures are people that have been in the industry and know what they are talking about. They can provide the theory and then the reality of what it can actually be like in the workplace and wider market. They also try to make the course interesting, relevant and engaging. As well as being able to explain problems clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. What I least like is that in years 2 and 3 more lessons could be timetabled in so that the course material is spread out across more days giving students and lecturers more time to go over areas. As sometimes it can feel rushed, in order to get through the material quickly so as to give more time to revise.

Students at the LIBF can become part of the University of London Union which has some cool perks and fun events. But it would be good for the LIBF to have their own union, to run cool events.

The facilities are limited due to the size of the university as it is a specialist, dealing specifically in finance, investment and accounting. So there won't be the typical range of facilities you would see at traditional universities. Having said that, the ones the LIBF do have are decent. The library is modern, relaxing and has a number of helpful books. Their online library; Knowledge Bank has a wealth of useful information that is always available and easy to access. There are plenty of good quality computers available and there is a pool table, ping pong table and chill out area at the ready.

Good, it all depends on the individual and what they are looking for. London has a range of cool things to suit anybody, with the LIBF being in the heart of London, its super easy to get around and find fun things to do.

Being on a smaller scale as the LIBF is a specialist university there are not loads of clubs and societies that you would usually see in a traditional uni. But students are free to make ones and there is an investment, charity and football society. But more could be added.

The range of support is really good as the university is a specialist and so on a smaller scale, the support is more personalised, feedback is responsive and the uni is always looking for new ideas and ways to improve. You can see any lecturer on a one to one basis to go over any issues. The full time programme team are always available on hand to help. So support is there if you need it.
