Nottingham is a fantastic city, filled with an abundance of activities, shops and nightlife. It is a fairly small city that feels warm and welcoming, but is filled to the brim with variety, so there really is something for everyone. The University of Nottingham provides a half-and-half experience of both the city and a campus university, so you have an escape from both, and can happily keep work/play separate. The support for students is perhaps similar to all other universities, it is there, but only for people that seek, or ask for it. I think you can get easily overwhelmed with university life, and it makes it that much harder to reach out and actively look for the support you need, therefore I do think it would be beneficial for options and opportunities to be made more clear to students, so they don’t feel overwhelmed with the process of searching for support specific to them. However, that being said the facilities are fantastic, and the courses are diverse. The teaching is brilliant and I appreciate the amount of support for studies there is available for students. I love Nottingham and my experience with both the university and the city, and I honestly believe Nottingham really has something for everyone.

The course at UON is very small and intimate, it is so nice to be able to know everyone in the lecture hall, and feel comfortable to share ideas and passions in front of your peers. I feel the smaller classes is extremely beneficial as the lecturers tend to maintain a very close and personalised academic relationship with their students, and the support is truly fantastic.

For one of the cheaper halls of residence that is self catered, Raleigh Park is extremely sociable, with lots of events and opportunities to meet like-minded people. It is halfway between the centre of town, and University Park Campus, as well as being incredibly close to amenities such as JD gyms, Lidl, and Takeaways such as dominos. The majority of students that stay here are studying on Jubilee Campus, however, it is beneficial for all students that want to experience both campus and city life.
