Lots of great study spaces/libraries. Some lecture halls are great and (plug sockets where you can charge your laptop at every seat) but others, in the older buildings are less great (no plug sockets next to your seat to charge). The lecturers and staff and support services are fantastic and the city is a brilliant place to be. Would recommend.

Love the MA course, enjoying it much more than my undergraduate course as the content is what I am actually interested in and want to do in the future. The course is organised around the SDGs which is great, and there’s lots of opportunities alongside the course (such as to volunteer as a climate ambassador, North East Solidarity and Teaching…) I also do Arabic as an extra module alongside my course which is no extra charge and is great.

Felt very safe, moved in with some people I’m still friends with now. Had an en-suite which was great.

best is uni life and layout so the uni is near my accommodation and bear the other buildings worst is the problems in the accommodation with heating and hot water.

best is language seminars and portuguese lessons. some lectures feel like we don’t learn much. spanish b level classes we don’t speak as much as i’d wish

i like my flat mates and the layout of marris house with kitchen in between the bedrooms and the sofa. don’t like the fire alarm always going off in the morning and problems with heating and hot water.
