It’s a fun university with a strong sense of community amongst the students. As everyone is quite artistic and free-spirited, it creates a light and welcoming atmosphere when on campus, especially when there’s a DJ or bake sale in the main courtyard. I would say however that the tutors on my course can be a bit disorganised at times as I feel that there isn’t enough communication between them, leading to different a lot of confusion.

There’s only one online lecture a week which lasts 1.5 hours and the rest of the sessions/lectures are in person. Sometimes it can feel like it is a waste of time as there isn’t always a strict structure for how the day will unfold but generally you are informed about what you will be doing in the next session so there is time to prepare or think about things.

People get on with each other quite quickly. There is a strong sense of community. The rooms are spacious and definitely a lot better than most student accommodation for the same price. The drawbacks of the accommodation are that you have to go down a steep hill to walk to town and that can be a bit dangerous but manageable if you are careful and take your time, and on that steep hill or in the surrounding area people have been murdered there (2 in the last few years).

It’s an amazing place to study because it’s a wholesome environment and it’s got an amazing nightlife. Even if the nightlife isn’t your thing, there’s so much to do. It could be improved with slightly more housing options available for people in their 2nd or 3rd years that isn’t private accommodation.

The best aspect is how thorough the coursework is, and how the tutors take time to ensure that you are doing okay and 2nd and 3rd years also help each other out. The worst aspect is sometimes how vague assignments can be, which is only a problem if you don’t think too much.

It’s close to campus and the student houses in Winton, so it’s a very accessible location. The only downside is that it is far away from the nightlife and there’s not much public transport infrastructure after midnight.
