Lectures are mostly online, but is beneficial as rarely do you have to be up for a 9am.

PWI of learning but York is definitely getting more diverse each year. It is a very safe city, but expensive. I often walk home from the library at 3am in the morning and have never been made to feel unsafe.

The University of York provides a great environment for both academic development and student social life. Not only there are numerous quiet study areas and computer rooms scattered in every department and colleges across the university; the library which opens 24 hours, is also a very popular place to study due to its well-equipped facilities and studious atmosphere. The university also provides many ‘skill hubs’ supporting programs to help student develop key skills to improve our academic experiences, such as math skill and writing skill. The campus (Heslington West) is situated on a lake, students studying at this university get to be surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife (especially geese and ducks!) In term of university life, there are many societies, clubs and sports student can join. All students are assigned to a college which is great as gives student a strong sense of community, provides opportunity to make friendship outside our course department and participate in social and sporting events. Overall, in my opinion, University of York is awesome! The city itself, York, is a student-friendly and a beautiful historic city to live. It has many cute little designer boutiques shops as well as big-name high street outlets. I find the people in this city generally very friendly as well. For those in need of big city weekend, York is quite close to big cities like Leeds and Manchester, only 2 hours away from London and Edinburgh by train.

The university offers many career supports and workshops. There are many activities student can do to boost their job prospects, e.g. volunteering, be part of the student union, write for the newspaper, join clubs and societies etc. Some courses provide a year in industry program which is great as it provides the students an edge of experiences.
