Overall, my experience has been a roller-coaster of emotions. There have been days where I think I am doing well, and others where I think I am failing. But the support which is given from your peers, tutors and lecturers really helps.

There are plenty of computer in the Pierson building for you to use to complete your coursework. The staff are always helpful and will help if you are having problems with your own laptop. The online library helps with your coursework, and the use of journals comes in handy too. Laboratories are fully working and contain plenty of equipment to assist in your independant study

The feedback given from assignments from your tutors are good but could be improved. I have had lecturers contradict themselves with their marking- Saying I shouldn't include something, then in the marking they said I should've. It can make it hard to comprehend what they are looking for. I, personally have not used the counselling facility at the university, so I am unsure how good the support it. But I do see advertisements around the university if help is needed and where to go.

There is always help given to those who need it from the Student Union. Any worries/questions about anything at university- whether it be about your course, homesickness, problems with finance they are happy to help in any way they can.

I primarily study in the St.Johns campus. Although just a short walk over the bridge into town, there are buses regularly which go through the university and take 5 minutes to get into town. There are plenty of supermarkets in Worcester and plenty of restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. The accommodation blocks are only a short walk away from the university and there is plenty of parking if you drive. The city campus is only a 5 minute walk (if that) into town and next door to the Hive which is perfect if you need to find books or use their computers.

There are plenty of societies/sports at the university of Worcester. So many, it is hard to choose just one. Each year I look, there are more and more societies and sports which is great as there is a wide variety to choose from. The hours expected to train in sports are varied and work around your course. It is a great way to meet new people. You definitely do not have to study sport to do any of the sports listed. Everyone is so welcoming and accommodating.

What I like most about my course is the variety of topics. Every lecturer has different ways of teaching, which can make it difficult if you are more of a hands-on person, and the lecture itself is mainly discussion based. But some modules are very hands-on which compensates for the discussion lectures. The lecturers are helpful, and the feedback given from assignments is great to learn from.

Throughout your time at university, it is always advantageous to do some kind of work placement/volunteering when you can as it boosts your chance for good employment afterwards. The Worcester Award is always encouraging people to sign up and volunteer whilst at university. In the Pierson building, there are handouts on what to include on your CV, covering letter and how to apply for jobs into what you're looking for. There are also handouts on tips to ace exams and essays and presentations which is great if you need to improve on anything.
