I’ve loved my time at UEA. Not to sound overly cliched but I’m becoming the person I’ve always wanted to. I’ve made the best friends of my life and encounter challenges I hadn’t even thought of. Academics have been struggling but the support has been good and I hope I will come out of uni with a more employable and more confident person. The only issue with being at UEA is having to leave UEA.

The facilities are great. There’s a sport park on campus which houses swimming pools, seminar rooms, 360 Astro turfs and a cafe. There’s a lake, a visual arts centre where avengers was filmed and a host of locations to relax or study in. I can’t think of anything else I’d want on campus. You could live there year round easily without feeling institutionalised - it’s huge!

Academics tutors are always great. They respond quickly to emails and you can visit them in office hours. The support was lacking at the beginning of my university experience. I am pleased to say UEA have done a lot to aid mental health support and counselling in the past year after a couple of really sad events on campus. I believe the crisis of mental health at the moment is unlike anything institutions have seen before. Our generation host a whole new variety of pressures and problems during our time at uni. I know some friends have really benefited from student support services, specifically counselling. I’ve seen some that don’t believe the system is good enough and have had to seek support outside of the university. It’s no doubt like any other NHS surgery the campus one is hugely oversubscribed and that means that many people don’t get the support they need quick enough. I think there are still lessons to be learnt and more support facilities to be put into place but I’m confident that UEA will continue to better their mental health services.

There are all the officers under the sun. I’ve been lucky not to ever need to speak to the SU about issues but I know if I ever did have a problem they would be the first port of call. The facilities are also great, there are bars, shops and places to eat throughout campus. I also have a job at the shop on campus and in terms of providing employment for students they’re flexible, pay phenomenally and provide persons development opportunities. Even outside of a work setting the SU reside in the centre of campus and you do really feel like they get you with most people working there current students/alumni. My favourite is always the annual pimp my barrow day, run by the SU for charity.

Yes really good. It’s outside of the actual city of Norwich but the bus links are so good that’s certainly not an issue. There’s loads around, and everything you’d need is already on campus anyway. Equipped with a lake, bar and shop all run by the SU it’s easy. Everything you need is in walking distance on campus . There are even buses that go directly to campus or the airport.

So good. I personally am only a member of my academic society Economics. But, there so many events every year from the ball to pub crawls. The variety of societies is crazy, from garlic bread to debating; there really is something for everyone. I know a lot of people’s main social life is through societies and you can see why - they’re great fun.

I would like more flexibility in my module choices but understand the importance of core modules in order to do so. I would probably like more seminars each week. In terms of teaching, j really like the way it’s organised. We have lecturers every week then have to complete assessments and questions for each module. This makes it helpful to keep up with the demands from the course. The availability of lecturers is also great. I’ve really benefitted from office hours, the one on one time with lecturers helps address individual queries.

Yes they do. We get a weekly bulletin from a senior Economics lecturer who provides details about jobs and arranges talks from a number of experts from different industries. The career department has been really helpful reading my CV and providing sessions to help you at application centres/interviews. There is also a careers fair every year where many large corporations come onto campus and you can speak to HR people from specific departments.

Norwich has affordable housing and finding a place to live for my second and third year was easy. The house itself is nice and I love living with my friends. It’s close to uni - 15 minute walk. The landlords are lovely and come whenever we have a problem.

the uni is close to accomodation. but it is not close to the local amentieis such as groceries (other than tesco). the options are limited for the students.

Rent is reasonable for an ensuite room. Location is 30 minutes walking to uni so it is convienent. I usually walk to uni. it is a safe house
