The city itself feels very run down and dirty, which can be quite depressing at times but on the other hand the student body collectively make a huge effort to run and go to events and socials, which provides a really great diversion from studies and the city itself. The university itself is overcomplicated with several contracted subdepartments and too much bureaucracy, which makes it difficult for the students' Union to make changes or hold the university to account. However the courses at the uni are genuinely excellent and the lecturers/professors generally make a real effort to be engaging and useful.

Most lecturers and professors are engaged and enthusiastic which shows in their teaching, however the facilities are underfunded and a bit dingy in places.

The residences team and security team are appalling. They're rude and they barely do the bare minimum of their job. It's hard to get a response from them let alone any action. They pick and choose at random who to vilify, fine, punish etc but do little to prevent any actual problems or crimes from happening.

The campus is a really lovely friendly place and the wellbeing support team have been very good. The archaeology lecturers are very passionate about their work and the department is very friendly and a wonderful community to be a part of.

The course is great with all my lectures in person and often recorded if you need to watch again. Could be a few more contact hours for some modules but on the whole not a bad number (9-11) compared to some other courses. The lecturers are always around if you have any questions or need help outside of lecture time so more contact hours are not necessarily required.

Food was well organised with friendly kitchen staff. The maintenance staff were really helpful and will come as soon as possible! Security and reception made the halls feel very safe. Internet was sometimes dodgy but I think that’s the case everywhere!
