I like the proximity of all uni buildings but I dont like the cost of the gym and the cost of joining socities especially sports societies.

I dislike how large tutorial sessions they are not long enough because when I do questions and learning I can do only one or two questions in the session before leaving and I might only get help once or twice.

Good general living conditions (though the boiler broke and flooded the whole flat and left us without water for a few days) but I can get equally good or far better student rooms with the same flat setup for thousands cheaper in the private sector so not worth the money. I would not recommend it for the price.

There is so much to do in Sheffield and the campus and surrounding area is really amazing! The Students’ Union is absolutely amazing with all sorts of activities for everyone from the best nights out to liberation marches for marginalised groups. The facilities at the university are amazing for my course too! To improve the university could offer cheaper food options as it can be quite expensive for lunch.

On Aerosocs engineering there are a lot of contact hours (20+ per week) with it all being in person. Consisting of labs, lectures and tutorials. We have a lot of modules so the breadth and depth of study is immense. This can be intense and overwhelming at times but is rewarding. The facilities in the diamond are great. The new design projects are fab; we are currently design, building and testing a Quadplane! To improve the course could be slightly less intense with work more evenly distributed throughout the semester rather than many deadlines plus 6 exams in the space of a few weeks.

The village itself is absolutely lovely with a shop, study space, 24/7 reception and a bar! The flats were very modern and quite spacious, all being en-suite! It could get loud at night but that’s students. The security team kept everyone safe and were constantly on it! It’s great as so many people live there so it’s a nice community. It is a fairly long walk to the uni if you’re in the Diamond but definitely worth it!
