Salford is a great place to study and live. You're right at the gates of Manchester so you can head into town whenever you like, at a moment's notice. There are fantastic public transport links (providing there are no strikes) on your doorstep too! So you can go further a field as well. The Campus itself is a lovely space, with lots of places to relax between lectures. We're very fortunate to have a huge park right next door, where students can go if the weather is holding up. The library is our stand-out facility, with 3 floors of books, computer rooms and study spaces that are bookable. Their services are excellent and you'll always find something you need. It's open 24/7, every day of the year apart from Christmas day, so it's perfect for those late-night study sessions!

My course is quite theoretical. There are not too many opportunities for practicals outside of extra-curricular activities, such as the Aeronautical Society and Salford Racing. However, the course content itself is very good and it leaves you in a more specialized position than the aeronautical engineers, while still being qualified for any job an aeronautical engineer would be.
