Overall, if i knew what this place was like before joining, i probably wouldnt have joined. Its way too cold, i grew up in 30 degree weather, nothing under 26. And the heating is soo frustrating as they program it to only turn on at a certain temperature, so you freeze all day and sweat all night. Its a painful system. Dogs arent allowed which is sad because their are so many dogs here and the housing isnt dorms, its housing. The classes are soooo absolutely boring, its extremely hard to pay attention and stay awake. I sometimes skip classes to study at home because i think thats more efficient and effective. The classes arent great in my opinion. The 2 year degree is what brings everyone here. Saving that 1 year of your life means a lot, especially to the youth. We only have 2 subjects to start with which makes it easy to keep up and also the classes are only 50% mandatory so that makes it easy to study n work and not stresss out. Their are the good sides to this university. Its not that strict. You have freedom. Just study, join a few classes. Graduate early, parties arent bad, pretty fun with friends. But dont expect fun or interesting classes and teachers.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
Their alright for a suburban University. I would expect better though if it was located in the city.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The teachers are good for a large teaching space (more than 2 students which i did before in private schooling). The personal counselling is good because of this woman stacy, shes sooo supportive and helpful.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Dont know them well. I did go for an interview though with the events manager and i got no email about the update on my interview. The facilities are ok, not 5 star, city life facilities but their not bad.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Yes it is. The university is very close to accommodation. Local amenities are good if your used to suburban living. Im used to the city and this is not a city.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
I dont participate in any.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
The teachers have the time to talk to the students and tutorials are good if you study beforehand to ask questions. Its not the same as personal tutoring. More like study and come in to ask questions and learn more thoroughly. Classes are very tiring as 2 hours is too long with a monotone teacher. I have fallen alseep im every class. The teachers are not interesting.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
