What does an actor, entertainer or presenter do?

With a job in acting, entertaining or presenting you could work on many kinds of projects in different environments. You could portray characters on film or stage, entertain audiences with comedy or cabaret, host tv programmes, interview people or report news and events.

It can be a really enjoyable career, especially if you love performing and showing off your talents. However, it can be very competitive and difficult to find jobs. It’s disheartening when you get rejected after an audition, so you'll need to be hardworking and resilient. Be prepared to work long hours, have early starts, late finishes and travel away from home for work.
