You’ll typically start your career as a graduate trainee or in a junior quality assurance role. After some time working as a quality assurance professional, you’ll be able to move up to management roles where you may oversee a team of technicians or officers. With larger employers you’ll usually focus on a certain process or product, while you might take on a more general role in a smaller organisation. During your career you might transfer into similar areas like health and safety, customer relations or product development.

Experienced quality and regulatory professionals can work as independent consultants, offering their expertise to different clients across their industry.

What opportunities are there for career development?

Graduate schemes are often available through larger employers and are a good way to gain experience across different aspects of your chosen industry, building professional experience while you earn.
