As a design or development engineer, your skills and knowledge will be needed by businesses that develop products and appliances. You could end up working on a variety of products in lots of different industries in both the public and private sectors such as software, construction, vehicles and electronics.
You’ll be involved in the initial idea, the design and development of the product and the management of the project. Your main responsibility will be to make sure that the product you’re working on is designed in a way that makes it possible to build.
