Your role as a veterinary nurse will see you delivering hands-on medical care to animals across a variety of areas. You might work in general practice, emergency care or specialist referral care. You’ll generally support the work of veterinary surgeons, whether that’s carrying out some regular medical tasks or assisting with more complex ones like surgery.
Your daily responsibilities will involve a lot of animal handling and veterinary procedures. This could be vaccinating, checking the health of animals, preparing them for surgery, carrying out tests, assisting with surgeries or completing minor procedures yourself. You’ll also interact with pet owners, offering advice and education. This work will be hugely rewarding for animal lovers and natural carers.
