What does a customer service manager or supervisor do?

A career in customer service could see you working across many different industries with the aim of making sure the organisation’s customers stay happy. You’re likely to be based in an office but could also be stationed at the front end of the business. You may also work out of a call centre, as a big part of your job could be phone-based.

Having direct contact with customers, you’ll use your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage in dialogue with them and make sure that any queries or issues are resolved. You’ll get to speak with lots of people in this role, providing them information and resolving any issues they have, so it can be a rewarding job.

  • Reviewing customer communications to improve your organisation’s products or services
  • Coming up with procedures to help deal with customer needs, questions and complaints
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints and issues
