As I am currently in my 2nd year, it has become more difficult to manage (as expected) the many assignments we have received. I can of course enjoy myself being a part of very fun sports clubs & societies, meet new people and make new friends whilst having the lovely friends I made during my first year. The University of Worcester itself is definitely a great place to study. Having not a clue/ any idea about this place when I first arrived, (as I did not expect to come to this university, it was a clearing choice that I am very glad I made (it sold itself to me during my clearing search and calls with the university)) I did feel quite anxious and afraid due to a whole new environment/ new home infact as I lived in accomodation on St Johns campus. Little did I know I would make such amazing friendships and end up submerged in such a positive environment! The university also hosts such fun events which allow students to make friends with many other students on campus/ off campus/ from different courses/ countries, what not! It is definitely something so special, being able to understand different cultures of different people and celebrate with them on their traditions! There are also opportunities for mainly international students but also students from across the UK (from the experince of my close friends) to go on trips they have to pay for. They got to go to Cardiff, Stratford-Upon-Avon and another which I do not recall. They also got to go to Harry Potter World which was a triumph! They enjoyed themselves very much which is great to hear! The sports clubs and societies (especially the ones I am in - social sports and basketball) are such great communities/ hubs to make new friends and be able to keep active as it can be demotivating to want to do much with assignments being a priority. I am also adopting the WorcHike club at our university along with friends which will allow me to bring together a community of people with a common interest and allow them to make new friends/ socialise/ surround themselves in green which is proven to improve wellbeing. Bringing that sport club/ society back is something I am grateful I can do with the great help of the SU committee and my friends. The university also has many jobs available for students to apply for and successfully get, I currently have two jobs at the university which allow me to manage finances/ make money for myself/ be able to save up for my year abroad. Having these jobs available to students is very beneficial as we can continue with our studies and not have to worry quiet as much when it comes ot employability. The experience in itself is definitely rewarding for now and the future, for CV purposes and being even nominated for a reward by the university!

My course is so amazing in itself with the numerous fully funded fieldtrips we get to participate in. They are a part of the course, but valid reasonings as to why you cannot attend will always be considered by the lecturers/ module leaders, they are very accomodating to our needs. Modules do change each year as student feedback & demand varies which can be an issue for us students going abroad BUT, informing the lecturers about anything you are not too pleased about will be taken account of and suited to whatever student demand/ need is most common through raising concern. Being able to travel abroad as a part of my course is something that requires a lot of thought! I have always been certain of wanting to travel abroad and even work abroad (as I have high ambitions) in the future so this opportunity is something I knew I would not turn down. Having said, it takes a lot of thought and you will have to dedicate quite sometime to organisation for the study abroad and be able to meet with the international advisory team, staff members/ lecturers on your course, any people who have had the same opportunity with the course as there will be 4th years at the university you can communicate your concerns with! Support is readily available to students, it is just a matter of managing your free time well and booking meetings in advance so you can continue on, and feel secure in anything you were previously unsure/ uncertain of related to your course. I would definitely advise communicating with your lecturers about anything you're unsure/ uncertain of much earlier on as it will allow you to be more confident in yourself/ your work/ ideas, etc. Having just assignments on our course, no examinations, this has definitely allowed me to feel more at ease but assignments of course are stressful especially when you have bunches of them with due dates very similar (just days apart). That is something I would prefer not to be the case (bunching of deadlines for assignments) however, I could argue it is better in someway for developing organisational and time management skills.

From this experience I would really recommend living on campus but it's a matter of effort you put into friendships which all of my amazing friends did and vice versa (from myself to them). I would also recommend living on campus as it is much easier to wake up for lectures later than I currently have to (living out) and get to lecture in good time (I was always late due to waiting for my friends as four of us who lived in the accomodation are on the exact same course; perfect, the four of us currently live together in 2nd year and are all going abroad so will be in 4th year together). Having lived together & worked together with my friends on the same course as me allowed us to form such a great set of relationships with one another. I would love for so many others to experience what I have and even better! It is 100% something to cherish for the rest of my life. St Johns campus is a green campus which not only as a geographer, but a person who generally loves green-rural landscapes, this was great for me. The university takes very good care of their plant life on campus and is very enthusiatic about nature/wilfdlife and connectivity to it as humans!

I have found the experience really positive. Although covid has impacted my time there, I wouldn't change it for the world. The course has been interesting, engaging and honed in my career prospects. I now know what I want to do, where I want to work and how I'm going to go about it, so there's not really much more I can ask for! I would recommend Worcester to anyone and think the course is so important and can help save lives.

The city campus university site is easily accessible from town and the train station. It is small and pretty, but the rooms are big, clean and set up with a big screen and small TVs around the room so you don't have to strain your eyes.

We get emails weekly about the support that is available to us. I haven't had to use it, but it seems like there's a lot available.

Our course is blended learning, meaning we have some contact days at university and some days at home doing online learning activities. This allows for professionals to still be able to access the course making it accessible for all.

Every week we get information about a career presentation that will be taking place online for students who want to join. On my course, we also have guest speakers who come in to talk to us.
