In my first few weeks as a student at the University of Sussex, there are several things that have made it a good experience. One of the things that have struck me the most is the wonderful diversity here. It's been heartwarming to experience such an inclusive and friendly community where I've made friends from various backgrounds. The professors here are very knowledgeable and also incredibly engaging and passionate about their subjects. They've made learning an enjoyable and effective process. The workload is well-balanced, allowing for deep learning without feeling overwhelmed. In addition, the friendly and open atmosphere on campus has made my transition into university life very smooth. The vibrant student community and social life have been great, offering a well-rounded and enjoyable experience. There's some construction work happening on campus, which has caused some disruption, but it's evident that the university is committed to improving its facilities. It's reassuring to see this investment in campus enhancement, and I'm looking forward to experiencing a more modern and improved campus soon. I've noticed there's room for improvement in transport links to and from the university. Better accessibility would not only benefit current students but also make the university even more appealing to prospective ones. However, overall, my initial impressions of the university have been overwhelmingly positive, and I'm excited about the ongoing journey in this academic environment.

My course is all in-person, which is very beneficial to my learning. Being in the classroom with professors and fellow students is a plus as there is support available if I am ever stuck or falling behind. I really appreciate that there's extra support available. We have a peer-assisted learning scheme with second and third-years who studied the same modules we are studying now, and some lecturers organise helpdesks throughout the week, which are helpful when I need some extra guidance or have questions about the course material. Managing all the modules can be a bit challenging at times, and you really have to stay on top of your assignments and projects. However, even when it gets tough, the professors and the support system help make it manageable. In the end, it's all about the in-person learning experience and the great support system, making this course a rewarding journey. It takes some effort, but it promises a solid foundation and valuable skills in the field.

What I really like about the halls is how close they are to campus. Most of my lectures are just a 10-minute walk away, so it's super convenient. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything I need, from a toaster and oven to a kettle and plenty of fridge and cabinet space. The room itself is quite spacious, which makes it quite comfortable. Having a laundry room in the building is really convenient so I don't have to carry my clothes across campus. I haven't had any issues with essential utilities like water and electricity so far. The Wi-Fi is usually good, though it can be a bit spotty on rare occasions. The accommodation has a friendly and social atmosphere, which has made it easier for me to meet new people and build connections. All in all, I feel like I'm getting good value for the money I'm paying. The convenience, amenities, and the social aspect of the halls have made my stay here really enjoyable.

Despite COVID and lockdown, I've had a decent experience with Sussex Uni. There is issues with the administration and the internal workings and the modules this year have been hit or miss in terms of engagement, but the staff on the whole are great, the facilities are wonderful and the people I've met are friendly. I'm putting no for the value for money question because this year has been entirely online

When campus is open and running, the facilities are awesome. There are loads of places to eat with choices for many dietary needs, the outdoor spaces are abundant and well kept which is great when the weather is good, the library is huge but easy to navigate and the staff are very helpful (it's also easy to book study spaces there).

The mental health services I've used are very responsive when you first interact but there are long waiting lists for any solid services. There is great support for first year students who may struggle with making friends through the Buddy Scheme. If you struggle with essays and coursework then make use of the student skills hub and the workshops they run, they're very good at finding what you need to improve and helping with that.

Obviously with COVID, teaching has been drastically altered. The result has been a mixed bag, with some of my modules being outstanding in the level of teaching, contact and feedback, and others being extremely unorganised, particularly in the 2nd semester.

As a 1st year I can't comment much on this, but COVID has also stunted a lot of the services they provide for job opportunities
