I just graduated school and it is my first time attending a university. The shift from school to uni level was not that pressurising when I started my first semester in Strath. Later, I seemed to pressurise myself to do better so that I could fit well with my fellow students. To make it clear, the uni did not require anyone to have skills before enrollment. The tutors and seniors (mentors) are friendly and shares their experience and tips to handle the years' assignments and curriculum, which are very useful for freshers. Not too expensive for international students, good help and support service for them as well. A very understanding and flexible university in terms of Covid-related situations. Library and Department services were helpful too. To improve: More appropriate references needed as study materials, and more digital copies so that a lot of students can read and learn at the same time.

The revealing of the yearly overview and its learning outcomes by the end of it, gave me an insight on what I will achieve as an aspiring architect. I like the balance between the online and in-person sessions. The course hours and not very lengthy and boring. Great reviews and suggestions when communicating with the tutors. To improve: 1) As a fresher, I was a little lost in trying to cope with using new software (like PS, Autocad, Revit, Illustrator, etc.) for completing the assignments better. I hope the uni runs more workshops with live tutorials so that students like me know how to get started. It is not always helpful to refer Youtube tutorials. Moreover, knowing how to use them will increase our skillset and help build our portfolio better at the end of the course. 2) At times, the lecturers are pressed for time and go quickly over the slides. I hope they get enough time to explain and teach from each slide.

The classes you take during the PhD are great. The hours can be long.
