The campus is lovely to walk around, and every time I've gone to access student support they've been super helpful and understanding. There's loads of clubs and societies to join and the facilities on campus are really good. The only thing that I haven't liked is the politics within the student union, they don't seem to represent what the students want and in recent years have had their own agenda. There is quite a lack of funding for societies that need it.

The lecturers are mostly great, and they're always open to questions and very supportive. The course hours are pretty intense but it's a physics degree so it's to be expected. There are so many emails that we get about different placements which is so useful and we have lots of careers guidance and support ie for writing CVs.

Of all the Southampton halls, I'd say that Wessex Lane is the best value for money. It's not too far from campus and it's near a lovely riverside park. The room allocation was pretty random but you were able to request things like single gender flats and non drinking flats. The staff sorted things out really quickly when there were problems in my experience, and I never had issues with wifi. There wasn't much security that I saw on the outside, but all the buildings had locks on them. Overall I really liked the student community and enjoyed my time there.
