Studying at the international college is great. There are a lot of resources provided and even if you don’t understand a lecture at first, you will definitely understand after watching the tutorial videos and using all the practice sheets provided. I like how learning is very interactive with apps such as padlet and quizlet which are great for asking questions and revision. The student support is amazing as they provide everything from guardianship for under 18s to accommodation support. The teachers are amazing and I like how some of my teachers are Phd students so they relate to a lot of things and are able to teach in a way that is easy to understand. We also have access to the university facilities. I particularly like going to the Diamond to study because it is very peaceful and has a lot of interesting books on various subjects. The student union is also another favourite building of mine. I truly believe that it deserves its title of the best student union in the UK. Ranging from career support,giving students a chance to voice out their opinions to providing a space for recreational activities and having the best social life,the student union is the place to go for whatever you need. So far, I have not had any negative experience. The only thing that I don’t enjoy is walking up and down the hilly roads of Sheffield and sometimes it gets a bit too noisy.

My course can sometimes be very challenging. Most of the time its difficult to grasp a concept until I read it over and over again. Sometimes,the amount of work and deadlines I have to meet gets a little bit challenging and allows me little free time. However, the teachers are very supportive and I find it very useful when detailed feedback is given on all my assignments. There are a lot of support sessions in case you need extra explanation from a different tutor or just want to revise. I think this is really helpful because it gives me the clarity I need on many topics. Throughout the course,you receive ratings on how you are doing academically and this has let me know the areas I need to improve on. The lecture hours are great because it gives us time to do a new topic,ask questions and also answer in-class questions which has personally proven to be a good way for me to retain what I have learnt in class. Overall, I would say that although my course is hard, I am confident that with all the support and resources I have gotten I will be able to excel not only in my studies but also in my future career.

Sheffield is a very safe city for students. Most student accommodation is within walking distance to both universities and the city centre. Since I came to Sheffield,I have realised that most places are actually connected and it is very easy to get from one place to another. It has a lot of peaceful and beautiful places to go to on a really nice day for example, the winter garden. The night life is great as there are a lot of bars and restaurants with amazing food. Although most ensuite rooms are small and cost a lot, the studio rooms are usually very spacious. But student accommodation in Sheffield is very beautiful and usually worth the price. The roads are very hilly and sometimes it is difficult to walk. The people of Sheffield are very nice and because it is a very diverse city, you never have to be scared of going out no matter your gender,race or religion.
