Great university. Brilliant library and resources in general.

Best part is having lecturer's with industry experience. Online lectures are the worst part they do not work and should not be used to teach.

Great learning facilities, especially in New Adelphi! Events such as careers fairs are helpful for my future prospects whilst events such as the book and record stalls that have taken place outside the student union building were great to visit too. The peel park campus has a great library as well as good cafés and a bar, the campus overall has a friendly atmosphere!

The course has been pretty enjoyable so far! The lecturers I have during my construction lectures are very supportive and helpful, the lecturers I had when I was doing my research project were friendly but left me feeling a bit confused after some of our lectures. The facilities in both New Adelphi and the Peel building are great for our course, especially the fabric tech room and the computer lab in New Adelphi. The research project probably was a little much for our first assignment but now that we are starting new modules I feel less daunted and more excited to do work.

A lot of fairly good transport options are available around Salford / Manchester such as trains, buses and trams. The Salford shopping centre has the 50 bus running to it which is free with a student lanyard, this makes shopping convenient and less stressful. Manchester has both a great atmosphere during the day and night and there is something for everyone, Salford doesn’t have as much going on beyond on campus events unfortunately. Some places are a little pricey, especially in Manchester city centre, but with careful and non-impulsive spending it is a good place to be for students.

When first booking my room the website crashed and ended up having to call the provider to book which took longer to get sorted than expected. The rooms have great shelf space and a nice desk, the notice board in my room can fit a lot on it too! The shower is quite small but does the job, the shared kitchen is fairly decent too. The staff I have spoken to have been relatively friendly and the site is decently well kept.
