The best thing about my university is how open they are to student feedback and committed to improving the student experience. The addition of mid-module surveys allows us to have an input on modules whilst we are still learning so that we can actually benefit from the changes too (rather than the focus being on the next set of students). Also, love the creation of Leicester100! I'd say the worst aspect would simply be the cost of campus food as I've seen it rise quite a bit and it does seem to deter students at times from buying food on campus.

The best aspects include the mixture of content through research seminars and lectures, practicals, optional field-trips and workshops (to name a few!). I do think this helps make the content more engaging, particularly in a content-heavy course. The worst aspect would be that when carrying out practicals (specifically in Years 1 and 2), I don't think the significance and reasoning behind the practicals are explained in enough details for students to care about. Hence, it feels like you're just doing it for the sake of learning. I think doing a placement helped to solidify this knowledge but not every student does a placement.

Leicester is a well linked and central, small city with so much diversity. The facilities have improved so much recently and the staff are keen to help you with whatever you need.

In the first two years there is a good balance of lectures, groupwork and self study with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. In the clinical phase the placements are really good and have a big impact on my learning. I would like the amount of teaching to be increased in the clinical years however.

I loved living outside the city in a student community and found the residential staff really helpful. The only thing that could be improved is the bus service to and from campus.
