It was an amazing experience. I met some people who will most likely continue in my life for a long time; made some memories which I will always cherish and I believe the course really prepared us for MOST of what we may need to know in forensics. There are some points where they could improve, add modules or something like that, yet I am very pleased with the overall experience at uni. Also, the amount of free time you have is to die for. With such free time, you can easily have a part-time job, have fun and study at the same time. Obviously there will be times where you will still think you don’t have enough time to study or finish projects/assessments, but everything is doable and those moments are usually just 2 weeks longs.

Everything is clean and even though there are loads of stairs, there are lifts everywhere as well for disabled people. The campus also has 2 Starbucks and 2 places serving food, plus a student café/bar and a gymnasium where students can practice various supports during their free time. The only issue I can remember is the fact that the campus is comprised of 8 buildings, which means that you’d have to walk outside to attend your next lecture as their rarely in the same building. When it is sunny, it is all right, but when it is raining, cold or snowing it is not the best having to leave the heat of a building to go to your next lecture.

I feel that the university of Greenwich is VERY concerned about their students. They always advert their mental health schemes meant for students who need help. Also, you can always talk to your personal tutor (one of your course lecturers) for any help you may need (mental health, uni, other personal issues). The university and their staff are readily available for students.

Due to Covid, my last year was all online, but my two first years were all in-person. With usually two lab sessions every week which allow students to accustom to a laboratory environment. The general lectures (biology, biochemistry etc) would have approximately 100 to 200 students, yet the forensics related were a 50/60 people lecture which allows students to more easily ask questions when needed.

Another thing that the university is very keen on advertising is their employment schemes. In every course you have a module every year focused on the development of your professional skills as in creating your CV, preparing you for interviews etc. Even though most students find it quite repetitive and at times boring (myself included), we cannot deny the effort the university puts into helping us to prepare for our future professional life.
