It is placed in such a vibrant and exciting city - people really do make Glasgow. There is huge list of sports clubs and societies, with something to suit all kinds of personalities. The main issue is probably the same as other universities; things are getting far too expensive for the average student from working class background. Freeze the price of the Pint of Fun!

Blended learning has been left over since Covid, with pros and cons. The increased flexibility is good, but missing the student lifestyle of seeing friends and speaking with lecturers in person. As a medical student, placement is a part of life - better reimbursement for this would be great.

Paid the same price as those in newly refurbished halls while ours was still falling apart a bit. Nice to have an ensuite though. Laundry building is a pain to walk to but always open and always working. Decently close to university campus and big Tesco is only 15 minutes away!

Student support services are a little weak - months wait for mental health support. Not much of a community feeling if you are not a part of a sports society. However, the Unions are fantastic, the library is excellent, and there are ample study spaces in a variety of cool locations. There are some special lecture events, but I would enjoy it if they were more frequent and more widely advertised to the public, in the same way LSE public lectures are

The honours variety is phenomenal and all the lecturers are really passionate about their teaching. Internship opportunities are exceptional - I interned with a member of parliament and a political consultancy in Brussels, with financial support to attend both as a wp student. The facilities are great, however, there isn't really a dedicated learning space for each subject, lecturers are usually booked in whatever room is available, but this doesn't really detract from the experience.

Both costs of living and safety is getting worse - at the start of the course, they would have been a 5* and 4* respectively. The Westend of the city where the university is situated is very bohemian and has a real buzz which make the area a pleasure to be in. The city centre is certainly rougher though, and transportation options are not available equally across all areas of the city.
