So far it has been a really good experience at Glasgow, and I have made literally hundreds of friends. My course is awesome, although there are one or two exceptions. The uni facilities are excellent. The only field in which the uni lets the students down is the accommodation. The halls are very far from the campus, and also expensive even though they are quite inconvenient.

Fantastic university. Excellent location with good transport links to city centre. Beautiful buildings with great lecture theatres. Friendly community. Great international population.

We have TWO students unions. Glasgow University Union and Queen Margaret Union! They compete in freshers week to get freshers to come to their events, it's a friendly affair though! You can be a member of both unions which is fantastic. GUU is more sports orientated while QM is associated more with gigs and arty stuff.

Glasgow is a superb city. Particularly if this is your first time away from home. Everyone is very welcoming and up for a laugh. The scottish people are so friendly. The West End has a fantastic social scene from ashton lane with great restauranrs and bars just a stone throw away from campus, supermarkets and a cinema, it has so much to offer. We have a subway station just by campus where you can hop on a subway and be in city centre in just 8 minutes.

Huge range of societies that are extremely accessible to all.

Most departments are superbly organised. Particuarly English Language. Many departments have started recording lectures so if students are unable to attend they can watch from home.

Standard student halls! Perfect for one year, especially to make friends. I definitely would suggest Student Apartments on Hillhead Street, very close to the University and many exchange students stay here so you can meet people from all over the world. They are big flats with some shared rooms (I had a single) and there were 5 or 6 bathrooms. And 18 people so there was always someone to talk to.
