As a International Student I experience many new things here. 1. To start with education system over here is totally different compared to my home country. Here they give more priority in developing our skills and individuality which is a very good thing for the career. 2. Campus is equipped with everything what a student need in terms of lab facilities, library, student support, career guidance, self tutor, 24/7 Post Graduate study rooms, cafe, SU store, Sports club, Gym ,travel society etc. 3. University of Essex has the best student union I would say, I have never seen a SU this active with providing back to back events, programs and activities to the students. 4. SU volunteering is an another best team who has helped me to contribute to the society by spending time with the special people and helping them to do some art works. 5. There are many experienced staff over here who can guide us on our subject area and they are easy to approach. 6. Career hub provides us with many internship opportunities and other training programs for students which is very useful. For example- If you have zero knowledge on the basics of MS Excel , there are training sessions where they help you with the basics and solve your doubts as well. 7. They provide scholarships on various basis which is also a motivating factor to students to keep them going on the right path and here you can gain multi culture exposure. 8. In United Kingdom, only few universities provide my course and this university gave me the choice to go with my stream of my choice.Only here they provide the facility of using Bloomberg virtual trading which is the main reason for me choosing Essex Business School. 9. The university also provide many part time job opportunities to the students to gain some practical experience and to support their living which is a great thing. I feel that the university can put some effort on the following : 1. The university doesn’t provide placement to students. If they provide placement opportunities for the students it would be beneficial to all. 2. In the marking system we are totally new to the plagiarism thing, if they provide some platform to check our assignments and projects it would be helpful to score good marks and keep ourself safe from the plagiarism check. 3. One drawback of this university is that they don’t have a proper team to handle the timetable clashes and module selection process. The timetable gets changed often which is a disturbing thing for the students who are coming from far places. And due to the clash we had to choose a module in which we don’t have much interest. If they work on it, I would rank them the first in everything. To conclude with University of Essex is the best for both domestic and international students which has better rank, best campus life and highly skilled teachers. If they work on the above things I am sure that the future students will have the best education experience in their life and reach great positions in their career.

Best aspects : 1. University of Essex is the only university which provides FinTech in 3 different streams that is Computer Science, Finance and Economics. 2. Big data and computational finance modules are delivered in high standards with practical sessions. 3. Many guest lectures are organised by the department to keep us up to date about the Fintech industry. 4. Assignments are purely based on our course structure which helps us to learn many new skills and strategies which will be helpful to use later in the job market. 5. Course hours are scheduled for 4 days of classes in a week which is a good thing to keep us engaged with assignments and courseworks. 6. To talk about professors we are able to contact them during their office hours and we are able to book an 1-1 appointment as well to solve our doubts. Worst aspects: 1. The worst thing is that I had to leave few modules of my choice because of the time table clashes. 2. Out of 7 modules I had a worst experience in one module which was from the department of computer science where the module was not structured properly for the non computer science background students. The syllabus was same for both finance and computer science students which was unfair. 3. They don’t provide any placement programs for our course. Only guidance on how to search and in what areas we can concentrate to get a job in the FinTech Industry. 4. One more thing is that we don’t have any supervisor to deal with our stream for our dissertation in the FinTech topics, that is little disappointing. Apart from these the course is new and it is great to learn from this university.

Uni is great has clubs and bars in campus making nights out socialising and making friends super easy Sports facilities are amazing

The facilities they provide you with on my course are amazing giving you lots of hands on practise in labs with a variety of equipment They also offer amazing opportunities to volunteer and build your CV Worst- some modules don’t directly link and days can be spaced out

Rooms are a good size very safe and in an amazing location especially for sport lovers However for my accommodation which is enhanced and states recently refurbished however I wouldn’t say this is true
