I am loving Uni so far, the lecturers I have are all very helpful and friendly they. Ale you feel as if you are on the same level as them. The student nights out could be a lot better, they need so e much needed improvement.

Overall experience was great. I felt a bit discouraged when the pandemic hit, but I'm surprised by everyone's ability (students and tutors) to turn things around and continue producing amazing work. I've loved working in Brit Mill, exploring all kinds of artistic media and learning lots about the contemporary art scene, which I was very unaware of before.

The facilities are great, modern and clean. The studios are quite spacious and there are different kinds of rooms to develop your work - dark rooms, outdoor rooms, project spaces that simulate a gallery space, etc. You can also make use of studios of other courses through a booking system. The tutors will arrange tutorials for you on those, but if you wish to pursue any media that require them, you have to go there independently during the course.

The university has given me loads of support as a student. The international student centre was the most important for me, as I'm an EU student. They have supported me throughout my time there, but most importantly, they've helped me apply for the necessary documents I needed to stay in the UK and hold my rights. I have never made use of the mental health and disabilities support, but the University clinic was quite helpful before the pandemic hit.

I've gained a good work ethic at the studios with this course. I was advised to show up at the studios every day, even if there were no lectures or tutorials, and I was free to work on whatever I wanted, at my own pace. The times when we were confined at home were hard for everyone, but when blended-learning began, it felt great to be back in the studios and be safe during lectures. The tutors were really supportive of my work throughout these 3 ways of learning.

It's true that it's hard to find jobs in this area. However, both the tutors and the careers service from the Uni have helped me a great deal. There were modules dedicated to professional practices, and lectures/sessions with the careers staff from the university. I have found out about opportunities through general course emails, alerted by our tutors. They are not mandatory to pick up upon, again, most aspects of the course are very independent driven. However, by accepting and doing some volunteering jobs, I found myself wanting more experience and gained the habit of looking for it by myself.
