I started the BA Photography course in 2018 and finished in 2022. I found the modules interesting, and we had a good mix of arts and more commercially orientated guest speakers. The tutors were incredibly helpful and supportive and did their best to provide engaging sessions despite the disruption of covid19 during my studies there. Resources are good with plenty of studio space, a big Mac-based editing room, and a massive dark room (B@W plus colour possible). Technical support is excellent too. Certainly worth considering for an undergraduate-level photography degree.

I liked the fact there seems to be around 20 or fewer students on the course, which does facilitate good tutor contact time. Group critiques of new work were conducted well, there is a good mix of guided (written brief) and more open photo assignments. Coursework feels like a 50:50 workload of practical and written assessments. Topics for essays are generally interesting on art/photography history and theory.

Some lecturers give us a lot of support wheras others don't really care. I'd say done get your hopes up because they will come crashing back down on you!The subjects we have been taught have been done once in four years - however I think we should cover them in every year to increase our knowledge and skills in them!We also get taught how to teach for placements but not how to do them in real life once we have a job!
