Positives: There is a "close nit" and collective feeling at this uni. Since classes are fairly small and Chichester itself is a fairly small city, you get to know the area very well even after a few walks around the city and campuses. (The local charity and book shops are very nice, please do check them out!) If you enjoy a small town vibe where you can have charming hangouts with a few of your friends at the local bakery/coffee shop and you don't mind frequenting the same shop every week, then I would definitely recommend this uni for you. The resources for student help and support are easy to book and most needs are accounted for such as exploring counselling and neurodivergency. Moving to the university was very seamless and I integrated well into my accommodation (Stockbridge). Negatives: If you enjoy exploring a large busy city with giant buildings and that "metropolitan life", then Chichester is likely not the place for you. If you don't like commuting to your nearest shop or maybe not having access to specific amenities, then maybe do some research and have a stroll through the city on google maps.

Positives: The course itself (Computer Science) as of first year, is covering a lot of information that I personally have previously learned (Python, Web Design, Networking). But on a foundational level, it ensures that everyone starts off with the basics and nobody is left in the dark about a particular methodology or principle. Negatives: Because my course does start off with the basics, if you already have a background in IT, you will likely be reviewing content that you are already very familiar with so the first few lectures/modules may not push you as much as you're expecting. (If this is the case for you, I would personally suggest doing some outside research and studying outside of your modules on a topic that you're highly interested in. Especially if you know that it will be appearing later on in your university degree.) Overall I'm fairly satisfied with how my course is progressing and the modules we are doing (even if I was already familiar with the content)

Positives: These halls offer an ensuite bathroom for each room and the rooms themselves are large and there will be plenty of space for you. I have had no problems with the WiFi, the kitchens are all suitable for any cooking needs and security in these halls is handled very well. Negatives: While I understand on a health and safety level why routine fire alarm tests have to be done - it would be MUCH more accommodating if there was a notification of when the alarms are to be tested. Waking up at 7AM on a Tuesday after a late night out to the sound of a loud siren that lasts for several undetermined minutes is not only frustrating, but can be genuinely distressing for those with sensory issues or neurodivergent conditions. Where a simple notification letting them know that there will be a fire alarm test in the morning would probably benefit them greatly. The accommodations all (to my knowledge) use circuit laundry. This company is a stain on all UK universities that use it and if you look them up, you will find nothing but complaint after complaint. The app is frustrating to use, the prices are high, machines break regularly and there is a minimum top-up system of £10 when a simple online wallet service (such as google pay) would perfectly suffice. Please keep in mind that you will likely have problems with circuit laundry when moving to a university accommodation.
