Quite small so it’s easy to get to know people and make friends. You will almost always find someone that knows one of your course mates/flatmates/other friends! There are good facilities for musical theatre students including a large number of practice rooms with pianos and multiple dance studios. However, it could do with a few more performance spaces to allow for more shows to be produced allowing audiences to come and watch. The on campus food is pretty good and quite cheap, and the shop has a range of snacks for when you need a little somethin somethin. The campus has great sports facilities for sport subjects and there is a massive range of sport societies to join and make use of these facilities. The SU puts on regular events, some are popular ie. WSIHE Wednesday and Silent Discos, and some are not so popular. There is one main ‘club’ that is quite small and can get a bit old the more frequently you go, however it’s still a good night out if you’re out with the right people, and again, you will almost always bump into someone you know! There’s a few good bars and pubs around as well if you want something a bit more chill but it’s also easy to get in a train to Portsmouth or even Brighton for a big night out and when with a big group of friends, is a really fun night out. It would help to have a few more clubs in Chichester so that it wasn’t as expensive as getting to another city and paying for a taxi home.

I moved onto this course in second year from a less intense course and only have good things to say. The teachers are amazing, they very rarely miss a class and if they do, it is made up to us at a later date. I have seen more progress in my first semester on this course than i did all of first year on my previous course. We have plenty of contact hours that still gives us enough time to go out and socialise and have the uni experience or join a society. Many of our lecturers are always willing to have you in for a one to one tutorial to go through anything you’re worried about or need help with. Outside of our contact hours, we also get the opportunity to perform in workshops/shows that are rehearsed for in our breaks from uni, cabaret evenings and other one off opportunities. You also have the facilities to be able to practice in your own time by booking out music and dance practice rooms.

I loved halls. Everything was included in the price, if anything broke maintenance would be quick to come and fix it (most times!). The shower is a bit weak but it does the job. Rooms are a bit small but is enough for what you need and you have the communal kitchen and common room to change scenery. Really friendly security was always on the gate and would make sure you got back into your flat after a messy night out! I was lucky enough to get on with my flatmates and because we were a flat of 7, there was opportunity to spend time with a range of people. More often than not you with make friends with people in other flats and because you’re all in one area, it’s so easy to go and spend time in their flats. My only issue was that it was a 40 minute walk from uni and there was no bus service apart from a few at night time (i’m not sure whether this has changed though). But then there were always people walking at the same time as you, so again more opportunity to get to know people living around you.
