The city of chichester itself is quite small and nightlife isn’t in abundance. However, the amazing community feel around the university campus and the city community as a whole is very comforting. It is very easy to make chichester feel like home and I feel incredibly lucky to live here for my studies. There is a wealth of places to go and things to do in close proximity, such as the witterings and the bustling high street. The university itself offers top quality support to students and has helped me become a more well rounded person.

I have always had a massive love for the arts and I am happy to say I’m pursuing my dreams by studying Acting at university of chichester. The support for the arts at this university is unlike anything I have ever experienced. With an amazingly, well equipped show room there is more than enough support from the department for every performance no matter how big or small.

Close proximity to many different types of life I.e. beaches, larger cities, quiet countryside

My only issue with my halls is the walk from them to campus. However, this minor issue is made up for with helpful and kind maintenance team members, friendly security guards and overall great amenities.

Can't comment on the student union as have had very little involvement. As a mature student I have found uni life disappointing. There is a group for older students but I have never managed to catch up with them as their meetings are sporadic and there's always a clash. There is a huge divide between myself and other students on my course. After some initial communication issues in Year 1 I now make no effort to converse with my course members unless absolutely necessary. This doesn't bother me in the slightest now but my uni life has not been what I expected. I cannot fault the course itself my learning experience has been fantastic and I have learned so much. Course tutors are highly knowledgeable and very supportive as is our admin team within humanities. Our subject librarian and course administrator are just amazing. If you are coming to Chi as a young person then it will be great. If you are coming just to study as a mature student & are not concerned with having a uni social life then Chi is also for you. I think you get out of it what you put in & personally I'm not concerned enough about a social life to have done anything about it. I have been too busy studying and working and running my home. I do think young students coming from school should be aware that they will be on courses with older students and they are experiencing uni and course the same way as them. Older does not mean more knowledgeable it just means more life experience and they are not the same thing.

Lots of modules to choose from but more medieval/early modern content is needed so we don't have to choose from creative writing modules. This is due to the loss of several tutors who've not been replaced. What is taught is excellent and delivery through in person lectures and seminars is great. Very lucky to have pretty much 24/7 contact with all our lecturers and they respond very quickly to any emails. This is a course with a lot of study involved and lots of essays 2 per module in yrs 1 and 1 essay in yr 2 and essays and dissertation in yr 3. There is a lot of reading and writing and you will spend a lot of time in the library. Course content and learning is my favourite part. Least is that some students often leave half way through a lecture and don't seem interested in listening or participating. Very distracting.
